FDC head to Spirit of North Hop

On the 28th October, FDC headed to the very first ‘Spirit of North Hop’ festival in Aberdeen, which celebrates some of the finest spirits to come out of Scotland.

Those attending were able to discover some new distilleries or revisit some of their old favourites. From gin to rum, whisky to vodka, and liqueurs to tequila. Each distillery offered up 5ml samples and if you liked what you were tasting, you could then purchase a perfect serve, cocktail, or bottle to take home.

Each session also featured ‘spiritual sessions’ offering a chance to ‘meet the distillers’, a DJ setting the scene in the ‘Botanical Lounge’ and some epic street food vendors.

We packed up our trusty van full of cocktails, loaded in the FDC team and headed up to Aberdeen, where we functioned as an on-site bar in the AECC venue alongside other brands such as Wester and Thistly Cross.

The event fell on the weekend before Halloween, which seemed to help numbers and added an interesting twist to the night session, where there was a variety of weird and wonderful costumes in the room!

As always, it's a lot of fun for us to see our drinks being enjoyed right in front of our eyes. Our stalls are always made up of the FDC team who are working on the business on a daily basis. We do not hire events staff to do these for us because we love this part of the job!

The Scotch on the Beach was a firm favourite with many at this event, as you can see from the pictures below!
