Finnieston Distillery Company's Scotch Whisky Cocktails are Undeniably Different
Forget what you know about Scotch Whisky, we’re breaking away from tradition!
Glasgow is a city of industry. Once the centre of the world’s shipbuilding and locomotive manufacture, the citys expansion during the industrial revolution was founded upon innovation and trade. With easy access to the docks, mercantile classes thrived. It was one of these merchants by the name of Ebenezer Connal, who already had a thriving
business importing teas from India and the Orient aboard his ships, with whom our story began in 1824.
We discovered Ebenezer liked to do things a little differently. When the opportunity arose to convert another of the family businesses, the John Connal and Son Brewery in Finnieston Street, a Whisky distillery was born in the docks of Glasgow. Ebenezer’s was a Whisky infused with exotic herbs and spices, as well as a taste of heather to produce one
of the most unusual offerings of the day. We realised this chimed perfectly with our vision to bring new energy and new interest into Scotch Whisky.
Scotch Whisky was, and is now, enjoyed throughout the world. Finnieston was then the hub of operations, shipping casks across the country and around the globe. Glasgow itself was once home to a multitude of distilleries, with all but one or two gone. Today we are bringing Ebenezer’s vision back to life- through the Finnieston Distillery Company.
While the traditional Whisky brands lack a sense of adventure, Finnieston Distillery thrives on being progressive and innovative. We want to overthrow the traditional image, rules and behaviours that are associated with Whisky because we truly believe that people should be free to drink what they want, how they want and when they want it.
